New 2017 Harley Davidson Gear Highlights (photos)
It's a whole new riding season and besides new bikes, that means new gear in shops. Let's look at what Harley-Davidson Motor Clothing has for you in 2017.
1. Embrace the AMF Years
After decades of trying to pretend the AMF owned years never happened, it seems Harley has finally made peace with it. These two shirts feature tank graphics originally emblazoned on the bikes from the bad old days and are hip as can be. The next generation of riders loves the sleazy 70s that these shirts represent, and Harley has a matching cap as well, with the same graphics as the shirt on the right. The Retro V-neck Tee on the left or the Retro Tank Emblem Tee on the right both sell for $25.

2. The One Helmet
Sometimes you want to feel the wind in your face, and sometimes you want to blast down the freeway at 100 mph. Now you can wear one helmet for in town, and still, have real protection from the wind at freeway speeds. The Gyre Interchangeable shield 3/4 helmet sells for $175 and comes in flat black, with blacker graphic on the side. Built into the helmet is a tinted visor, just like fighter pilots have, that can drop down over your eyes when you need it, or retract when the sun goes down. The clear freeway shield can also be pivoted out of the way, or popped off and replaced with a black bill and side plates. You can go from one to the other in just seconds too.

3. All-Purpose Riding Jacket
The Canter leather jacket can be worn in just about any weather, thanks to its generous ventilation system. Unzip the zippers to let the air in while you ride, but you're still safe from road rash. Plus this jacket is pre-distressed, so it is broken in before you put your first mile on it. The style is traditional, but still as modern as what the latest adventure touring riders have on. There is even stealth reflective material, to help you stay safe at night, and look good during the day. The Triple Vent System Canter leather jacket is $525.

4. Weatherproof Fleece
This riding fleece doesn't offer armor or abrasion protection, but it is meant for riding. This jacket is a great overlayer, which packs small, but is wind and waterproof if the weather suddenly turns bad. Plus, if you are the kind of guy who rides around in your shirt sleeves, this is a great jacket to have when the sun goes down and the temperature drops. The Headway Fleece is $195.

5. Waterproof and Ventilated, for the Ladies
For summer riding this mesh jacket offers protection in the form of padding and abrasion resistance, but the mesh allows the wind air on the hottest days. The zip out inner liner is waterproof but so thin and light, it packs in its own pocket and can be carried for use at night or in a sudden shower. The Harley #1 with wings logo is on the back of the liner and peaks out through the mesh. Unfortunately, this lightweight jacket is only for the ladies. The Winged #1 waterproof mesh jacket is $190.

6. For a Good Cause
The Wounded Warrior project helps veterans of the US military with proceeds from products. When you buy this casual hooded sweatshirt from Harley, they make a donation to the cause. You can get this basic black hoodie in both men's and women's cuts and sizes, both with a special military/Harley-Davidson logo on the back, and camo in the hood. The women's style is here, and the men's is here, both for $75 each.
