Sex on Wheels

When you own a motorcycle gear/parts/accessories business and you've been riding on two wheels since the age of six, a normal bike just won't do. You need something that's undeniably cool, timeless, and most certainly unique. Such is the case with Mike D. Ellis, general manager of Biltwell. But it was his business that made Ellis want to get into building custom bikes, not the other way around.

One Heck of a First Build

Ellis wanted to get a feel for how his custom parts worked. Not to mention figure out if there were any potential problems or struggles buyers of those parts were going through. And what better way to do that than use them to build a bike of his own? So Ellis, with the help of some friends, got started on building this amazing Sportster Chopper. For a first build, we can't imagine it coming out any cooler.

Devil's in the Details

The ambitious build started out with a Spartan frame, which is extra special because it's the only Evo frame the shop has ever done (at least to date). Ellis himself had a hand in building the custom king/queen seat, which has an awesome old school vibe to it. Not to mention three very cool, round LED brake lights built into the back side of it. The sissy bar looks simple, but Ellis says it took 25 different pieces of metal to make. And to top it all off, those sweet W&W Cycles Cannon Ball wheels are the first set ever made.

The Prius of Choppers?

A ride this badass has to have enough power to match its character. And according to Ellis, the Sex Panther simply "rips." The stock motor was treated to a laundry list of performance parts, starting with a Rev Performance 1250 kit. Other goodies include N4 Cams, a Dynatek 2000i ignition, and a Biltwell Builder’s kit exhaust w/ Lowbrow Customs heat shields. And aside from being fast, Ellis calls his bike "the Prius of choppers" because it gets 65 miles to the gallon!

The Perfect Mix

As with the rest of the bike, a good amount of thought went into the suspension. Up front, you'll find a shaved, ribbed and powder coated H-D 39mm narrow glide with a progressive cartridge kit and fork brace. Brakes are mix and match Wilwood/Russell up front and Flyrite Sprotor/Drag Specialties pieces out back. Throw on a host of complimentary Biltwell bits (of course) like the bars, risers, mirror, and pegs, and you've got a bike we'd be more than happy to ride anywhere!
