Grandstand Bagger

The exclusive Grandstand Limited Series Paint Set is a total show-stopper. With only 150 serialized sets released per year, the folks over at Baggers Magazine were lucky enough to receive a complete set for their 2019 Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special. Here is a front row look at this killer paint option, along with a few offerings from Harley-Davidson's new Dominion accessory line.

Complete Set

The paint set is a complete package with options. Offered in Black Denim and Fierce Orange, with brushed aluminum highlights and red pinstripes, the set is only available for the Street Glide, Road Glide, and Road King. The Street Glide set consists of an Outer Fairing, Custom Tank, Wrapped Front Fender, Side Covers, CVO Rear Fender System and Stretched Saddlebags.

Motor-Mods

The Street Glide Special also got a mild Stage 1 performance bump, starting off with a Screamin’ Eagle Heavy Breather intake. Jeff Allen from Baggers Magazine explained the rationale for keeping the motor-mods to a minimum. He said, “The Milwaukee-Eight is so far ahead of the Twin Cam in stock form that you really can’t expect the same jump in numbers.”

Recommended Power

With a Stage 1, the Milwaukee-Eight 114 cubic-inch motor reaches peak torque sooner and provides better throttle response. Allen continued, “It is already so much more efficient out of the box.” Harley-Davidson's Torque or Power Kit is recommended for attaining more horsepower and torque gains. In keeping with the Grandstand theme, the M8 engine received interchangeable black and orange Dominion inserts on the cam and derby covers.

Cap Off

Screamin’ Eagle High-Flow Exhausts with Street Cannon Mufflers round out the Stage 1 upgrade and provide a nice, deep note. Blunt Slash Up/Down/Out 4.5 inch End Caps finish off the mufflers. Coated in Satin Black, the easy-to-install end caps can be mounted in almost any orientation. A Screamin’ Eagle Pro Street Tuner dismisses decel-pop and makes the most out of the engine modifications.

Wrapped Up

The cast-aluminum Talon rims are stock, but the Wrapped Front Fender makes for a killer-custom look. Front and back wheels measure-in at a tall nineteen-inch front and eighteen rear. Dual front four-piston calipers and standard ABS take care of stopping the rolling stock. Now standard on touring models, the Showa Dual Bending Valve frontend works to suppress vehicle body-float, which translates to better overall stability.

Grandslam Fairing

Form and function work together with a 4.5-inch Wind Splitter Windscreen atop the painted outer fairing. While stock, the Grandstand treatment on the Outer Fairing gives it that 'going fast while standing still look.' Smoked Bullet Turn Signals with amber bulbs work well with the Dual Halogen headlight and disappear nicely under the Outer Fairing.

Fierce Choice

The color-matched Fierce Orange Inner Fairing is one of the optional items on the Grandstand Limited Series Paint Set. Baggers Magazine was a little hesitant to add the painted Inner Fairing at first. Jeff Allen elaborated, “We sprung for the optional color-matched inner fairing as well. Yes, that’s a lot of orange, but it works.” Adding around $1500 to the build, almost three times the price of a stock black unit, the fairing is a serious consideration.

Mix-and-Match

With contemporary appeal, the Dominion accessory collection complements the Grandstand look perfectly. Even better is the mix-and-match capability of the Dominion line, meaning that one can easily achieve a personalized custom look. Taking it one step further is the all-out beefy Dominion cam and primary covers — available in bronze and black.

Grandstand Bank

Priced at $1700, the Grandstand Limited Series Chopped Tour-Pak is the other optional item. For those looking for a stand-out bike, the Grandstand Limited Series Paint Set is the way to go. Coming in at just over $10,000 with all the options, buyers can rest easy knowing they have a limited serialized set with a certificate of authenticity — now that is money in the bank come resale time.
