Real Standout

These days (and for many years to this point), custom Harley-Davidson builds have become a dime a dozen, no matter what part of the world one lives in. With so many shops churning out so many of these builds, it's becoming increasingly rare to find one that stands out from that pack, in fact. However, this wild Softail from the folks at One Way Machine certainly hits that mark, thanks to a number of extremely unique features.

Award Winner

One Way Machine is the brainchild of famed custom bike builder Julian von Oheimb, who has secured two overall wins and four top-three finishes in the modified Harley-Davidson division of the AMD World Championship. The lifelong Harley fan has been churning out custom rides for roughly 20 years to this point, most of which have come from his shop in Staufenberg, Germany.

Silver Storm

This custom Softail - dubbed "Silver Storm" - is a perfect example of why OWM has become so world-renowned, and it also just so happened to earn the shop its second AMD win back in 2018. The bike started life as a stock 2001 FXSTD, which had a mere 2,000 miles on the clock before it was torn apart and rebuilt as one sees it here.

Strip It Down

OWM proceeded to strip the Softail down to its last nut and bolt before giving it a number of upgrades including a custom suspension setup with an Arlen Ness lowering kit, modified triple clamps from a Sportster, and various other tweaks.

Show Stopper

The custom machine now rolls on a set of W&W wheels measuring 21 inches up front and 18 inches in the rear, both of which are wrapped in retro-styled rubber, accented by Beringer brakes. Then there's the polished custom metal body, which is arguably the true show-stopper here, helping give Silver Storm its name at the same time.

One of a Kind

A chain drive helps further the old school meets new school look here, coupled with a custom stainless steel exhaust. Overall, it's easy to see how this particular machine managed to rack up such an impressive honor, as truthfully, we don't think there's anything else out there that's quite like it.
