Daily Slideshow: Stunt Riding Isn't Just for Men Anymore

Andrea Tuia, or "Drea Stunts" as she is known on her Facebook page, describes herself as a "female stunt rider" who represents the Pacific Northwest with specific focus to the Seattle, WA area. She describes herself as "an athlete, sponsored by ZeusArmor, CRWWND Clothing, and Graveyard Customs." A quick internet search of her name proves that she is that and much more.

1. Andrea Tuia

On the surface, Andrea Tuia is a lovely, brown-haired woman with a big smile. But, don't let her big, bright smile and gentle eyes deceive you, there's more to this lady than you might think. Behind that cute, harmless smile is a woman that lives on the edge, fearlessly riding her motorcycles like there's no tomorrow and challenging her body and mind to make her bikes do things that go way beyond what they were designed for.

2. Who is this lady?

She is Andrea Tuia and, as she said in a recent interview with Hot Bike Magazine, that she is "a female stunt rider from the Northwest that is dedicated, motivated and passionate". She rides if you want to call it that, a '04 Harley-Davidson Roadster and a '06 Kawasaki Ninja. While she may nonchalantly call what she is doing on those bikes as "riding", I think the rest of us can agree that it goes way beyond riding in the traditional sense.

3. Bruce Tuia

Bruce and Andrea met while riding motorcycles. As their relationship grew stronger, Bruce would encourage Andrea as she attempted more and more daring stunts and, as she says, his encouragement was instrumental in her success. Oh...did I mention that Bruce was also a stunt rider? Yeah, that's him making some sick spark trails and dragging his hand.

The crazy couple got married on August 13, 2016...in a way that only they could. Check out their wedding video, the newlywed "dance" (at around the 5:48 mark) that is like no other!

4. The couple that rides together

It's true that couples that ride together have better relationships than those that don't. Maybe it's the enjoyment of a common activity or the understanding of shared movement, but there is something special about riding with your significant other. The Tuia's get it...to the extreme, maybe, but they still get it. In May of 2017, they gave birth to a beautiful baby girl that, undoubtedly, will grow up riding motorcycles like her mom and dad.

5. Being a mom hasn't slowed her down

Andrea may be a mom, but she is still riding and still stunting. She is constantly pushing herself, saying that she is "addicted to the challenge" and addicted to "pushing past the mental blocks of not being able to do something." She says that riding the way she does is 90 percent mental. She's right about that, too. As with anything in life, if you tell yourself you can't do it, you won't be able to. Andrea certainly has no mental blocks about what she can make those bikes do.

6. Still a girl

Despite all of her badass riding, dragging the rear fender on the asphalt and throwing sparks, doing epic wheelies and sitting on the handlebars, Andrea Tuia is still a girl. She is an example to young girls everywhere that it doesn't take a man's DNA to handle a bike and she is an example for men that, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover...no matter how lovely that "book" may look in a Santa outfit.
