Demo Time

Electric vehicles, despite being around for a few years now, are still quite polarizing. Some people love them, some hate them, but there's no denying their potential. The Vance & Hines Pro Stock Motorcycle Team recently did a nice job of demonstrating that when they rolled into the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals at the Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis with a LiveWire.

Uninterrupted Power

Fans were able to see the LiveWire's capabilities up close and personal, which include a 0-60 time of under 3.0 seconds and a 60-80 time of 1.9 seconds. And since there's no clutch or shifting to do, the power delivery is instant, uninterrupted, and continuous.

Breaking Records

During the event, three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Angelle Sampey stepped off her Harley-Davidson FXDR Pro Stock bike to pilot the LiveWire. She covered the eighth-mile in 7.017-seconds and the quarter-mile in just 11.156 seconds at 110.35 mph, both of which are production electric motorcycle world records.

Twist and Go

Crazy enough, Sampey had never even ridden or sat on the electric bike before that day. "Let me tell you what’s amazing," she said. "That was the first time I rode the LiveWire. I could not wait to get it on the track. The LiveWire is so easy to ride. Just twist the throttle and go, and you really go!"

Friendly Competition

Sampey and her Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammates, Andrew Hines and Ed Krawiec, made a number of head-to-head drag race runs on stock LiveWire models, with Sampey posting the quickest times. Sampey is the winningest female in motorsports history with three-time Pro Stock Motorcycle championships (2000-2002) and 43 Pro Stock motorcycle wins.

Bit Different

The LiveWire is a bit different than most electric motorcycles, as it's designed to offer the performance you'd expect from an EV coupled with the premium look and feel of a Harley. As such, the H-D Revelation drivetrain offers little in the way of vibration, heat, and sound, quite the departure from what the brand is historically known for.

Seriously Quick

And that's exactly why so many Harley fans are having a hard time digesting it. But if there's one thing that no one can deny about the LiveWire, it's the fact that this thing is seriously quick.
