XL1200CX Roadster Transformed Into a Custom Racer
This subtle build aims to infuse a little motorsport into Harley's Sportster.
Subtle Creation
The vast majority of custom motorcycles that emerge from German builder Thunderbike are wild, unique, and heavily modified. But that isn't necessarily the case with everything it produces. Take this XL1200CX Roadster, for example. It's more of a subtle build, created to answer one simple question - does a Sportster have true racer genes?

Small Tweaks
On the surface, this Sportster doesn't even look heavily modified, really. But there are still 20+ aftermarket upgrades here, though they're more subtle in nature. In reality, Thunderbike simply tweaked a few things here and there to give this bike its own unique style, and that's what's cool about it.

Pleasing Sound
Perhaps the most notable upgrade is that Zard exhaust system, which has a rather wild-looking manifold. Combined with a Screamin' Eagle air filter, the duo helps the stock engine breathe a little better and emit a more pleasing sound.

Notable Touches
Other notable touches include a set of aluminum wheels, ABS double-disc brakes, and an upside down fork. Throw in a Thunderbike Cafe Racer front fairing, and it becomes quite clear what direction the builder was going in with this particular creation.

Control Center
Meanwhile, Thunderbike chose a Harley-Davidson clip-on handlebar to further enhance the look, plus Thunderbike Base Alu grips and footpegs, along with H-D supplied rear set foot controls for a nice mix.

Eclectic Mix
Rounding out this attractive package is a set of Thunderbike Billet Oval mirrors, Kellermann Bullet 1000 rear turn signals, and Thunderbike Stripe LED front turn signals. It may seem like a pretty eclectic mix of parts, but that's something that the builder is known for.

Sum of its Parts
Put it all together, and it simply works. This Roadster may not ride on a custom frame or feature some wild, one-off styling, but it looks great nonetheless. And perhaps more importantly, it's proof that you don't always have to go hog wild with mods to create a unique and great-looking bike, too.
