Progressive 422 shocks
I was going to get a air system for my Deuce but my wallet isa little thin. I thought the next best thing would be to go with a set of new shocks. The 422 seems like the way to go for adjustability, is there anyone here that has this shock???? Pros/cons....how does it affect the ride? Any info would be great!!!!

I got these for xmas. I absolutely love them. Bike is lowed 1.5" and it rides better than stock. Don't get slammed on bigger bumps like before. A great purchase IMO. Got the from Phat Performance Products for $385 shipped.

Found the site by doing a google search...they have some great prices at that store. I have looked around quite a bit, you are correct, cheapest price i could find also.
My concern was to be able to lower my bikenot lose comfort, i ride alone 99.9% of the time, so an air system isnt the way to go for me.

After i looked at some of the priceing i quickly put them under my favorites list on the computer-dont know if that is a good thing or not!!!!
Wish i could get more feed back on the shocks though.

That's good to hear blueduece. I've been researching and from what I've heard the 422s are a good shock. I've ran into the Phat Performance website before and they have very competitive pricing on a lot of expensive products.

I pulled out the wallet this morning, Washington squinted because he hadn't seen the sun in so long, and ordered the 422s. Mine was lowered 1 1/2" with the bolts. The ride was just too firm and too close to getting slammedout of travel for me. I now regret, via 20/20 hindsight, not going straight to shocks or air. You may have noticed my posts over the last month about pothole encounter fracturing 2 vertebrae. Bolts were less $ for sure but if you hire labor out then gap closes significantly. Be assured I will post results of same day/load/road comparison. Still plan to keep it lowered 1 1/4-1 1/2" because of looks and my wee legs. Already have front down 1 1/2 with progressive springs. That was low parts $ and high labor $ since I had indy shop do it. Current users of 413/422 do you have results of tweaking preload settings you may have tried. I Usually ride alone at 195# , 5% or less 2 up, wife has her own Harley. I Like a soft ride...don't we all.....but sure want to avoid that sudden stoppage due to hitting the rubber stops hard. Should be installed/sorted out by early next week I will share my OPINIONS. John
