I know, I know... nobody outside of HD corporate knows about new models. That is, nobody except those involved in the photo shoot this past weekend at a Dallas tattoo parlor who didn't bother to honor the NDA they had signed. Harley was doing a photo-shoot of a Harley-branded softail chopper with a 250" rear for the '08 product catalog. For the shoot, security was tight and 30' privacy barriers were put around the shop. At least one sales manager for a local HD dealer was aware of the shoot and confirmed that this model is going to be incorporated into the '08 catalog - although I wasn't able to get clarification as to if this will be anew stock softail model or if it's going to be a CVO limited availability piece.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't waste my time posting a rumor about unannounced models - we all know that Harley plays their announcements very close to the vest. But my sources are very credible and have a proven track record with me so I thought it worth at least posting.
Although I personally have zero interest in choppers, it'll be interesting to see if this plays out.
If nobody but corporate knows about them the drones are going to have to tool up awfully fast!!!! Where do you some of you guys buy your drugs, they seem to work.
Production model "Choppers" WTF!?!?!? I can't be reading that right. OH WAIT. I forgot about all the OTHERS out there.
Jeeeze. Here I thought a "Chopper" was a bike that was CHOPPED down for performance, and light weight, only having the most essential components, and was all done by the bike owner.
Keep in mind too that it may not be a "chopper" as we know (extreme raked front end, etc.) but possibly a softail model like the Night Train but with the beefier rear end. However, the folks I spoke with referred to it as a chopper.
