I finally resigned to the fact that I cannot salvage the stock Deluxe seat to be comfortable. I put the Mustang Wide Solo set on yesterday. 5 minute installation. I found this seat far more confortable than the stock. I had less pain to my back after 2 hours than 30 min. with the stock seat. The seat raised me about 2 inches. Because the seat is wider, putting your feet on the ground is more difficult if you are short. I'm 6'1" so it's not a problem for me but if your 5'9" or less, it may be difficult.
Downside for me is the seat does not match my bags. Also, I cannot use my Springer seat rail any longer. (I will be selling it if anyone is interested also will sell the stock seat shaved 2inches).
I keep wondering myself about the stock seat...but I really like the look....keep hoping it will break in
Was considering taking mine apart and doing my own work... Just a bit more cushion would do it I think.
I've done some work like that before and I paid close attention to what the seat guy was doing
Looks good..sorry you can't get the seat rail on anymore, really does add to the look.
