RE: HD Chrome Oil Vent Line #33111-02
I've put one on my last 3 bikes. The only problem I had was when I was installing it on my second bike an 03 RG. I had a torq wrench and was installing the fitting going into the motor, it twisted off. I had to use an EZ-out to remove it. I took the pieces to the local HD shop and they gave me a new one. I installed the new one, being careful, with no problems. I like the look of the chrome line better than a chrome cover. I installed one on my SG with no problems.

I put one on mine, no problems, just thread lines by finger tight only, before snugging up withwrench. Thereby not crossing theads and breaking off. Looks good and should definitely out last rubber line. Rubber dries out, cracks, gets hard and eventually leaks. Put something pretty on it to last.

The fitting at the oil filler spout is a compression fitting with a ferrule wich makes it a rigid connection. But on the engine end it is a captured rubber washer of sorts and is not rigid any way. I've installed two of them on my bikes, one has about 30K miles with no problems. The only thing I noticed between the old one and the new one is the bending is better one the old one and it looks straighter. The newer one dosen't look right and if you try to bend the tubing you'll crack the chrome. Oh well it must be progress.
