Heavy Breather ?'s
I've got an HD stage 2 Heavy breather but now that I've done so many other great things to the bike its out of place. I see a lot of guys running the heavy breathers that look like there about an 6 in disc style. I would consider the change if I could get some pics and suggestions. I ride my bike a lot so I get caught n the rain so I would like to be able to put a sock on it. I want to c more of the motor u know. Any help would b great.
Thanks Aaron

You seem to be using the term "heavy breather' as a generic air cleaner term. It's not.
Heavy breather refers to the 90* style intake offered by HD/SE.
Also, unless you have a large displacement motor you're not gaining anything using a stage 2 a/c.
Also, I have run an open (exposed) air cleaner for 18mos and been caught in some serious downpours. I've never had a problem with water shutting my bike down. Don't believe the hype about rain socks at all.

Thanks SC for the info.
I haven't made any engine mods to my bike but I was looking at the HD Heavy Breather to get the a/c out of my way when I'm on my highway pegs. What I saw that would to the job was the only "Heavy Breather" HD offers; the 90* version. They do offer a "Stage I" Air Cleaner but it is not called a heavy breather.
I've heard others talk about Arlen Ness, K&N and HD "Heavy Breathers" when they are referring to round, Stage I air cleaners a/c.
I get so confused!!!!

I got this one from Scott Palmer at www.hillsidecycle.com, works great and since Im shoving a lot of gas thru it utilizes a lot of that air, or so it seems.

I have a 90* a/c on my wide glide and it does not interfere at all with my legs.
This is not a "Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather". It's a generic brand that follows similar style.
Previously I had a Screamin Eagle Stage 1 air cleaner installed, using a K&N filter (part #: hd-800) and a custom diamond plate cover I made:
