What kind of engine oil and how much does it hold?
For a 2003 Fatboy. It was serviced last time by a shop(the first time I ha to service it when I got it) and I can't find my owners manual. What kind of oil and how much does it hold? Also, what other service should I perform, I am at 16k miles

Transmission; 32 oz. (0.95 liters) Engine oil; 3 quarts(tip; put enough oil in filter to soak media but not run out when installing) Primary; 32 oz. ( the basket is the clutch assembly)
I use Redline Primary oil, Aimsol 20W50 in engine with a Harley oil cooler and Bel Ray big twin in transmission.
The clutch plate 'chatter' is gone, The engine is much quieter than with the HD syn 3 at temps over 100* and the tranny shift is much more 'solid' as well as 5th gear scream being reduced.
My '08 is at 25K with no leaks or knocks.
If you change over, double dump, drain, put in new, run a 100 and drain off again to flush out old.
Get a lift.
When changing the primary and tranny get it hot, put on lift, place pans, drain plugs out and go to bed. let it drain off over night.
When reinstalling plugs use tourge wrench, don't trust the hand, those threads are very fine and will strip.
Finally get a manual because you will be adjusting the clutch cable and clutch at and between changes. Good Luck.

I use Bel Ray for the trans and no wine or clank and I can find neutral. I use Motor Factory® Primary Case Lube in the primary. because Amsoil has gone up so much I just switched to Mobil 1 for vtwin and it works as good. I have 58,000 miles in about 3 years and it runs great and no debris in the oil changes.

I swear by LUCAS but the lucas that is made for HD motors. They have many types but I have used it in my drag car in the past and when I did it with the HD synthetic in the fatboy there is NO engine noise, neutral is a snap and at oil changes it looks great. I think it is something like 2 1/4 HD synthetic and 3/4 Lucas but not sure, It is on the bottle. I use it it the engine, primary and crank case. Just my 2 cents worth and there are tons of opinions on here.
