Default Unable to pressure up air shocks

2012 Harley Limited......

previous owner removed stock air shocks and replaced with coil.....
and then switched again before trading it in..

Now I am unable to get any readings with my air gauge...and system will not air up
all connections seem to be in working order

If you're using the Harley pump, I have found mine to be VERY temperamental getting the exact position of the valve and even the angle I hold the pump. Sometime, if the connection to the stem is canted, I do half a pump, the gauge pressure shoots up and no air flows to the system. Try keeping the angle as straight as possible and maybe shifting the pump a few degrees at a time. Real PIA. Good luck.

It is a PIA threading the pump on. Doesn't seem to catch the threads unless you start in exactly the right place.

Once you get it on, you may have to tighten more than you would think, to get a reading, and inflate.

@Krobinson , can’t say whether it’s the valve or pump that’s unique, but a generic air pump will leak all the pressure out before you can get it disconnected. It may not even open the schrader valve in the first place. You do really need one of those special hand pumps. They’re about $20 on Amazon.

The shocks aren’t typical air shocks, so the bike isn’t going to jack up or anything as you add air.
