Well, after changing the oil and tightening up pipes and other items that had needed attention. I started to put air in my shocks, the tip on my air pump had come off and I put it back on, must be a part missing cause I can't get it to put air in the shocks. I checked the tool pouch and saddlebag, but don't see no other part. Am wondering if it's the pump or my shocks might have a leak. Will check with some buddies this afternoon and see if one of them has a pump to see if it's mine or shocks. Hoping it's the pump..
You might want to try a different pump if you have one around.
I had something similar happen when I bought my 2012 Limited. I did not check the air in the shocks till around the third day I had it. It had zro pressure in it.
Only pumps I had were a Viair pump and a "Slime" pump I carry for emergency air.
I tried using the viair but it would not put air in the valve. I thought I may have a stuck valve or something so I tried a few more times. I decided to try the cheap slime compressor and it worked like a charm.
There is something about the shape of the halve on the shock that would not let the viair touch the valve to allow it to get air in.
You might try another pump and see if it works for you.
I put my small 12v air compressor on it and bumped the power switch and got 20 psi in them and they held, so guess I am in the market for a new shock air pump. Might just keep using the 12v it is real small and don't push a lot of air(used for air mattresses, bike tires and such.
