Troubleshoot: Right Channel Cuts Off with TWO new amp
Gents need some help troubleshooting this:
HU: Sony DSX210
Amp: Power Acoustik RZ42000
Speakers: Infinity Kappa 62.11 + Soundstream tweeters
I originally had the RF PBR300X2, but want to add lids or 6X9’s in the bags. About 2 weeks ago I ordered a RZ42000, installed the Kappas to my front channel set on HPF and Gain at 11 o’clock. I installed the tweeters to the rear channel at 10 o’clock. 5 minutes into riding my right speaker cut out. I thought it was a connection. Eventually I hooked both the tweeters and kappas to the rear channel and all was good. Needing the second channel I returned the amp to Sonic and they sent me a new one today. I installed it and as soon as I raised the volume to about 75% on the head unit the same right channel cut out. My RCA’s are snug, and my speaker wires are snug as well. Not sure what’s causing this?
Help a brother out!
p.s. the RZ4 sounds great! Oh and using the PBR I had zero issues with that speaker.
I’ll add I’m using the same speaker wires and RCA as the first amp.

where are you grounding your amp too? Where is your power wire running. When things like this happen a lot of it has to do with your power on negative wires. Does your amp have a light on it? That will let you know if it's going into protective mode.

Power is running to the battery, ground is running to the frame.
Yeah I was thinking about that and running the ground to the batter and see if that fixes it.
Protection light does not come on. Right channel just cuts out...doesn’t matter if i connect the rear of front channel RCA from the radio to the front channel.

TD thanks for all the tips man.
So I hooked up the High Level inputs and the same issue happened. I ended up hooking the RCA’s back up, and wired one speaker to the front left and another to the rear left and I can blast this as much as it will go and doesn’t shut off.
That works for now, but eventually I want to use the rear channel for 6X9’s.
So I’m still ??
The head unit ground is connected to the standard harness. I haven’t changed any wiring from the set up I had with the PBR300. Until the ground earlier today.

Haze - did you switch the RCA's on the amp. meaning leave HU RCA's in place and switch the sets from left to right and v.v. on the amp. just trying to eliminate potential issues... I had 1 flaky RCA, causing my right front to crackle... took me a while to figure out it was the RCA cable being pushed/cornered in the fairing - it is a bit tight with the RZ in there.
