Default Real life experience with RKC saddlebag mounted amp...?

Calling on your vast body of knowledge and experience...

I'm on the verge of mounting an amp in the saddlebag of my RK. I am having second thoughts due to my extensive use of the bag for carrying gear. I can't imagine loosing a whole side for storage when I'm on those long hauls that are essential to ones sanity...and the Mrs. isn't about to give up her skivvies for better sounding tunes

Can you still utilize the saddlebag and provide adequate ventilation/cooling for an amp? More specifically, does anyone have any experience with a PBR 300X4 (which at times has been noted to operate in the HOT range) installed in their saddlebag? Has anyone without a fairing mounted an amp outside of the bags? I'm looking at the forward frame or even on the outside of the saddlebag between the bag and frame. I'll run the risk of exposure to the elements, but figure I'll "upgrade" the amp if and when it dies...

Thoughts and suggestions???

Thanks!
