Default Blown speaker, sucks.

DX6x9 is toast. Swapped it with the other one just to be sure.
I'm pretty sure I did it last weekend when I got all the rain water inside the fairing. Just didn't notice it until today.

Got another set on order.

Atleast it's something simple. Do you use water resistant cloth ? Reason I ask is I'm thinking it would be a good idea for my TP speakers.

I had some cut, waterproofed and ready to go. What I wasn't able to figure was how to cover the speaker without impeding the speaker movement if that makes sense. Covering the speaker grills on the fairing was a no brainer. Wouldn't look the same on the lids.

I always thought those protective lid covers Harley sells would be good for a bit of weather protection in the rain. Throw them in one of the bags when weather is good. Kinda like a condom for lid speakers

I have a pair of Mustang lid covers that i am hoping will fit good enough to use on my BadDad lids. I am also going to try to figure out how to wrap grill cloth around that big ugly horn on the pioneers.

Sgt Mike, are you using Vtwin adapters for 6x9 in your lids by chance? If so, I might have a solution for your speaker interference and cloth coverage.

instead of stretching the cloth over the speaker itself, I stretched it between the two plates of the Vtwin Adapter. Used the screws that hold the adapter together to pull it tight, trimmed excess with an xacto knife Worked slick and it will never impede the movement of the speaker.

No adapter with the Hogtunes lids. It wasn't the speaker getting wet that caused it to die, it was all the high frequency hissing and popping coming from the wet amp.
I didn't have any tools on that short ride to remove the seat and pull fuses. Lesson learned.

Are you using the cig lighter for amp remote or wire coming from HU?
