Default New Bracket to mount HD modules under the HK radio

For those looking to add amps above the HK radio, but have CB, iPod, XM, or NAV modules mounted above, member Scott Ezzell (ezzell141@comcast.net) has a new bracket to easily, and securely, mount the module(s) under the HK radio.

The bracket is nicely finished in a black powdercoat, and uses the four screws that secure the radio to the vertical brackets. You remove the forward two screws and loosen the two rear screws so the bracket can slide in (the rearward two screw locations use slots to capture those screws).

After sliding the bracket in, you simply reinstall the forward two screws and tighten the rearward two screws. Then install the module(s) (in my case the CB and Ipod modules) and secure with a short screw and nut.

So, if your're looking to add an amp above the HK radio, but have HD module(s) installed, Scott has a great bracket to address the issue.

I'll post some pictures soon; or, simply email Scott and he can fill you in.

Carl

PS: Scott also has a new bracket for installing the amp above the HK radio if you don't want to put the amp directly on top of the HK radio. For my application, I couldn't use that bracket, but I've seen the bracket and it's a nice piece.

PPS: I'm not affiliated with Scott in any way; just passing along information on a new product just as many others have done in the past.

Andrew, if you have the post with the incorrect email address for Scott, please post it and I'll edit it to provide the correct address.

I have a bracket from Scott too.
It fits well, and he was great to deal with.

Also, for those of you (like me) adding rear speaker to your SG, Scott makes a wiring harness to run rear speakers off your stock HK head unit. It plugs right into your RF 300x4.

I recommend!

My 2 cents...

I have a 2012 FLHTK with the factory CB. Will I need this bracket if I want to install the HD Boom! amplifier?

Yes, you'll need to relocate the CB module below the HK; the Boom amp won't work with module(s) above the HK. Scott's bracket will be ideal for your application.

I just got my bracket too... so we need to drill the holes to mount the amp? I just put my Fosgate amp on top of the bracket and holes are not even close to being right...
