Default Finish my system please

Okay guys... here is what I have right now.
headunit - Sony DSX-210 (Hawgwired kit)
Fairing speakers - Focal 6.5 CVX
Lower faring speakers - Focal 6.5 CVX
Bag lids - Polk Audio Marine grade 6X9 (690XI)
Running the front fairing and lid speakers with a JL Audio XD400/4 amp
Running the lower speakers with a JL Audio XD200/2 amp.

This set up actually sounded great when I first put it together... so I'm not sure if I have just out grown this and want more, better, bigger sound... or my speakers have just depreciated over the last 15 months. I'm thinking of going with a true component set this time in the fairing. And if I were to do that is there a component set that I can mount the tweeter with the woofer for the lowers? If not... where to mount that tweeter? I would like to keep my speaker purchase under $1000-$1200... is that reasonable? If you guys are running true components please post pics of how/where you mounted your tweeters. Thanks in advance!

I have Boston Acoustic PROSE60's,...........they have the ability to mount the tweter to the 6.5 speaker. When I built my system, these speakers were about $800..........much cheaper now, AND they are 3ohm.

Can't belive more speaker don't have the option to mount the tweeter with the speaker.

Holy Kow, I installed Focal KPS"s 6.5 in fairing, mounted the tweeter on the inner fairing right below the windshield on the outside of the inner fairing there are 2 flat areas (where the Hog Tune speaker pods mount). I also have the Titan II's from Biketronics in my lowers and saddle bag lids THEY ROCK! If you didn"t want to mount components these HAT's (Hybrid Audio Technology) speakers are impressive, they have won more car audio competitions since 2006 than all the other brands combined! Check em out on the Biketronics web site.

I run 2 of the ALPINE PDX 4.150 amps..........the Boston's have their own channel of 150+ CLEAN watts.

Will my JL XD400/4 be enough to push 4 of these? The JL amps are supposed to be "true wattage" so I'm hoping 100 watts per channel will be enough.

I bought a used Hog Tunes tweeter pod, took it apart, threw away the tweeters, and mounted my Fosgate component tweeters instead and painted the setup to match the inner fairing. The placement turned out to be very good.

Perhaps you could post pics of the inside & outside of the fairing.....In that location, aren't there 'runner' supports for the molding of the fairing, ( on the inside ) ??

You would only get one shot to do this perfect !!
