Default speaker help?

Last season I bought the polk audio db551 speakers and liked them. I wanted more volume from them so I took the bike in and had a Memphis audio amp installed. I now have more volume but they told me they installed bass blockers so the speakers wouldn't blow. I want to get different speakers now cause I don't really get a "music" sound from the speakers just hear the singing really well and want "music" back as well. Will upgrading to a 6 1/2 speaker enable me to get the sound I am after? I have a 04 ultra with the amp only powering the fairing speakers cause my tour pak is almost never on, I also have to stock head unit and don't wont to replace it. What speaker would you guys recommend? Don't really want to change the amp either.

Thanks
Kevin

Not sure what a bass blocker is other than the switch on the amplifier. You could open the fairing and move the switch to allow the lower frequencies through. The bigger the speaker the more bass you will hear but neither the 5.1 or 6.5 inchers are going to thump like your home stereo. If you do reset your frequency pass filters be careful how far you turn up the bass setting on your headunit. I'd skip right over the 6 1/2's and go the the 7.1's if you do go bigger.

springer 03 - bass blockers are capacitors that are wired inline with the + lead going to the speaker. Capacitors have different values therefore are used in different scenarios and for different frequencies.

kevin n - yes sir larger speakers would help. You might want to look at the biketronics BT7P1 7.1" speakers. I'm not 100% certain but I think those memphis amps are stable at 2 ohms so you might also want to look at the Polk MM651 speakers as well.
