Default CB on 2014 Street Glide

I have the Boom 4.3 model radio on my 2014 Street Glide. I had the shop add the headset plug. They flashed the radio, and it works great! My phone is connected via Bluetooth and I can make and receive phone calls wirelessly on it. I'm very happy with the install and the functionality, except . . . I would like the CB module added to use for bike-to-bike comms. The techs at the dealership don't think the mod can be added to the 4.3 model radio, but they also said this stuff is so new they don't have all the answers. The only option they gave me is to upgrade to the 6.5 model radio and add the cb module - they quoted the parts and labor to be about $2400. I don't want to spend that much just to get CB functionality. Do any of you on the forum know if the cb module can be added to the 4.3 radio?

i know these bikes and a lot of parts are new and unfamiliar territory to sales and parts people around the country, but damn.. comon HD educate your people....

OP - the part # you're looking for is 76000486 - $255
you will also need the following parts.
PTT button - part # 71500041 - $5.04
switch pack - part # 71500130 - $127
CB antenna - not sure about this one.. can't seem to find the part #

The CB module itself should be just like it is on current H/K head units where you simply plug it in and the head unit recognizes it but might require fumbling through menus to activate it also.

you always have the option of going aftermarket parts such as the products John/J&M sell.

Unfortunately, I can see why it would be $2400 if you choose or need to swap head units. The 6.5" stereo upgrade is $1800 by itself.

yeah at that price.. it won't be very much longer (if not already) that aftermarket manufacturers will release a kit to put a respectable double din navigation unit in these bikes.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The dealership claims that the CB module cannot be added to the 4.3 radio. I have everything already installed except the CB module, the PTT switch, and the antenna. I was hoping someone else had already tried to add the CB to the 4.3, as I hate to buy the module and find out it doesn't work.

call HD Customer Service and verify with them. I don't have one to put my hands on to verify myself but I would be a tad bit skeptical the dealer is trying to upsell you to a $1800 head unit.

I like your pricing - when I use an online parts catalog the prices are at least 30% higher!

I talked to the parts guy and to the mechanic. They are still skeptical, and said if I give them a parts list they will try to do it . . . do you know if the wiring harness to the r/h handlebar switch will support the PTT switch? I hate to take mine apart and probably wouldn't know what I was looking at anyway.

Default 2014 an CB

I checked again at the dealer and have been told can't add the CB or the sat radio. Going to be a lot of unhappy people if this is true.
