Default How ti identify a Harley frame?

I need some help and advice.

I am searching for information of how to identify a frame being an original Harley frame.

Both in general as well as more specific for FL/FLH with Shovelhead engine.

It could be books, pictures, links etc.

This is in order to make a manual for the authorities here in Denmark, so that they can identify original frames from non-original. In Denmark you will basically lose the registration of the motorcycle (and the taxes paid) in case you cannot prove the originality of the frame.

Thanks in advance - your time and effort is highly appreciated.

you did not say what year ( swingarm frame ) in the lower rear up right if its an OEM frame will have 1958 to 1964 -- OEM PART # 47004 - 58 - will be casted in - 1965 to maybe 1977 -- 47004 - 65 -- if its a ridig frame i will get you those numbers

I would be more concerned with altered numbers on 70 and up frames. One scam involves obtaining a title to a Harley Aeromachi lightweight or Sportster and transferring those numbers to a FX/FLH. Original Harley frames are easy to identify with the part numbers cast into the rear sections as noted above.

The frame in question - it is documentation for an FL/FLH, that can prove the frame being original with a Shovelhead...?
