Default 124" winter build...

Weather looks like it's going to stay bad so it's as good of time as any to get on with this long awaited motor build. The plan started as a 107" build but quickly turned into a 124" build. Literally dollars difference between the 2 builds I considered (not including clutch). So here we go... I couldn't make up my mind of what I wanted to do so I said screw it and yanked the motor. Now I gotta make up my mind haha. So boom here it is

I spoke with Kirby at veetwin racing today and he's going to build me a mild 124" set at 10.5:1, stage III heads, 58mm HPI, with an s&s gear drive 585. I'm not looking for huge numbers out of this thing. 120/120 would make me plenty happy but I'm sure it will be closer to 130/130 which means I'll be buying a clutch. I had already ordered some parts for the build and they showed up today

S&s roller rockers, s&s premium tappets, s&s pr's, gear drive kit, cam install kit, and an Andrews 30T pulley.

Last on the list (the current list) is a pile of parts to clean up and get to the powder coater..

Yikes... I'm exhausted just thinking about it haha. I'm going to try to get the bottom end and heads shipped to Kirby on Monday and then it'll be a few weeks on his end.. Stay tuned I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions..

Good luck. Kirby just did my motor and I am breaking it in now. He did my crank too (true, weld, and jims timken conversion). Although I didn't do a 124. Sounds like it's going to be bad ***

The motor build is gonna run about $5500, although theres some gaskets I'm sure I still need to get (and that's with roller rockers and gear drive) I'm not sure what gaskets are going to come back with the motor I need to ask Kirby. The clutch is going to send that cost up too and you see the pile of parts to powder coat. Hopefully I can still get the family discount on the PC. Might be selling the tmax to get a tts too
