Default Are we sure a 200 will fit my Wide glide?

So I just ordered a wheel pkg. 23" for up front of which there's only one size tire out there and a 18"x 5.5" rim with a 200/55vr18 Avon Cobra for the rear. I believe I've seen that rear combo on here ? The new tire is about 5/8" wider.

I just put a 180 on the rear of my 08 WG and have about 1/4 inch of clearance between the tire and belt. Adding another 20mm-10 on each side, your going to be very close to rubbing. Let us know how your fit is. A mounted picture would be great to show how tight the tire and belt clearance is.

i have a 18x5.5 on my 06 FXDCI, no major mods but if you change the wheel you may need to change the spacers. the cobra 200 is only about 185 - 190 wide. sorry about the quality of the photo's but you can see it fits

If neccissary you can get a spacer for the belt pulley so it will clear the swing arm.
They come in different thickness so if you use one use the thinnest that wii work for you. Most never need anything over 1/4inch.

When the funds allow I will go with a 18x4.5 and run a v rod rear tire size 180/55/18. I believe you will fit fine but the availability of the 200 in that size in many brands was slim last I looked.

Hey that's good to know. So guys just space both pulleys over front and rear ? I have never looked at the belt clearance ,between the belt to side cover clearance . I bet I have close to a .5" belt to tire. Do I have a t68 on the back ? Stock 2011 Wg.

Ya I just love the look of a fat *** tire on the back. If I could justify the Hartland wide tire kit I do it. I wish Avon made a 200/50/18 this 200/55 is a inch taller than the stock Dunlop and the front is 1.5"taller. Not a big deal the bikes pretty low with the C&C seat and the 11.5" rear shocks. But ...... I just hope it rides well. The rim and tire pkg are stupid money. When my wife sees the credit card charge she going to shxt. So if you hear a high pitch scream you'll know.

The Metzler is 50 series, (200/50 x 18) and if you are after all the width, it is a true 200mm, as stated earlier the Avon is around 195.

Have you had both because Avon has it speced out at 198mm/7.8"w 679mm or 26.7"tall . Metzler's web site is crap I can't get any where. But seems like people are pretty happy with the Avon and getting more miles out of them than the Metzler. And to me the Cobra's tread pattern look nicer. The front pattern on the Metz looks like my dads old Honda Hawk Hondamatic. Although the taller 55 may f up my HD Speedo/tech . ???

Default 200/50/18 Metzler

Can anyone find the 200/50/18 Metzler specs. Something comparable to the Avon Cobra you no not a sport bike tire. And fit a 6" wide rim. And yes mine only 5.5". I'm looking for width and more importantly height. Thanks
