Dont wrap. Friend of mine wrapped his and got 2 seasons out of the pipe before it cracked. Save your money and buy heat shields. Many of the same stories out there. See below posts.

Did my pipe in silver, but it was stainless, blue/brown. I had it wrapped for a minute, 4 months, daily riding it started falling apart, wrapping sucks for daily, ran good though. Vht, sand, repainting whenever.
Vht scratched, fine sand paper, repainting local spot, quick and easy. Easier on shorty pipes, v&h comp 2:1

Well I pulled the trigger and bought the thunderheaders and a powervision tuner. I think I might hold off on doing anything to the pipes with the hopes that a good tuning will lower the temperature and then save up for the heat shields.
Do the heat shield work well? Its hot out here in LA and I already sweat alot hahah

The pipe works fine without heat shields, it's your leg that will suffer if you're not careful. DO NOT TOUCH THE PIPE. Otherwise no big issues. Ran my TH without shields for 35,000 miles without a problem. Your jeans will also eventually get dried out and crispy near the pipe after a few months of riding and wear out.
