A silly question here, If I powdercoat my heat shields how will it hold up? Also if I wrap my head pipes with thermal wrap will it help against destroying my powdercoat job on the heat shields? Thanks
I was considering getting my pipes and shields ceramic coated. They have ceramic coating that looks like chrome but won't turn blue from the extreme heat. Or if you want you could ceramic coat the heat shields black if that is the color you are going to get them powder coated.
I sent a batch of parts to this company last week and will let you know how they turn out: Custom Powder Coating (They are located in Dallas, Texas). I chose them because they did work for Orange County Choppers and Jay Leno.
I used VHT sparay paint, its a fire proof ceramic coating that you can bake on yourself by letting the bike idle some and running it. Stuff works good I havent had a problem with it yet and ive used it on 3 different sets of pipes. Autozone sells it on the shelf.

I just did the same thing. I really like the looks of it and it was pretty easy to do.

This is true. I met a guy that did the same thing. It looked genuine enough for me to ask if it was ceramic.
