Hard to pick one favorite mod...engine work makes it so much more fun to ride, bars, seat and forward controls make it more comfortable, paint makes it look bad ***.
If I had to pick one single thing visually, I'd have to say the 21" front wheel. Relatively subtle mod but I think it changes the whole look of the bike.

Now, you have a bunch of people that can't limit themselves to choosing one item they've changed from OEM, and I can certainly understand that. I mean when you change a number of them it's not like you can really choose just one.
I've changed a number of things and I couldn't say just one I couldn't live without, no doubt. Cams are the ticket, so is the front fender, couldn't live without the Bobcat, no way could I live with stock shocks, gotta have the Daymaker, wouldn't set foot out the door without the bags, wouldn't own the damn thing without PC but, but, my paint matched gas cap and fuel gauge caps are something that definitely sets me apart from the riff-raff

I mean no offense to you personally and am glad you are making it your own bike, but that tail light is my most hated part ever installed on a dyna. I want to ask the engineer what he was thinking when he designed it. I love that color though, my next bike will probably be something similar.
Favorite mod so far has been the Power Vision from Fuel Moto. Run 4 Autotunes with it and ride for a thousand miles or so. Re-load the original tune or the one Fuel moto provided to see the difference it in power. I couldn't believe how well the combination of a good tune and Auto-tune works, even thought it's only the basic model.

My '11 had the same taillight. I LOVE it!!!
Actually, I had planned on doing a "Ducktail" rear fender from a 2005 FXDWG. Maybe the next FXDB.

I wanted to lower my bike but it will destroy the sexy turn ability my bike has - i can take any corners without scraping the ground with my pegs so i am hesitant to lower my bike.
Do you have problems with going around corner after you lowered your bike?

Tough to narrow it down to one specific item as they work together to get the job done. So instead I will put it in order.
1. Progressive 13" 444 shocks
2. Sundowner 2-up seat
3. Highway pegs
4. Saddlebags
Putting a couple hundred miles on in a day to get to some good twisty roads is my kinda of day.
