Default The FXRT / FXRP "Style" Dyna Fairing Thread

In an effort to collect the various info regarding the FXRT/FXRP style fixed fairings, lowers and windscreens available to Dyna owners, thought I'd start a thread with the stuff available for those wanting to research this popular mod.

Would like to hear from folks who have installed an FXRT/P style fairing on their Dyna, and please post pics of your bike....and what your impressions are regarding the fairing. Tech info always appreciated!!

My FXD/RT setup is a real mutt - I have a Conley's fairing, JD pursuit pods, USA Biker lowers, an old no-name chin spoiler from eBay, and DevFab fairing mounting hardware.

I also have a Kenwood Bluetooth amp tucked inside the fairing with a pair of 5" Polk Audio marine grade speakers.

I love the pocket of clean air that this setup offers and I think it looks alright too, haha! The only changes I plan to make from this point is a windshield with a little recurve for a little more bubble around me and a new headlight cover, as mine is cracked. I also want to replace the DevFab neck adapter with one from JD, because the DevFab one is one of the old cast aluminum ones and it cracked when I tried mount the fairing the first time. I think JD's is a better design and seems more solid than this one.

This is my BMC fairing. I've since added a daymaker style LED headlight.

I had played around with the idea before and actually purchased a Deviant Setup as well as a Conely's setup. I do not like the Deviant neck mount so I sold that, and I actually threw Conely's in the trash because the mount didn't even fit my bike. Of course I was refused a refund after a long argument. A story for another thread, but some unsolicited advice- NEVER BUY FROM CONELY. I have made that mistake more than once over the past several years and each time I have abandoned his products. Took me a couple of times to learn my lesson.

The nice thing about the BMC kit is that it is a complete kit. Comes with a mount that works and lines up 100% straight with no machining, grinding, or cutting. They include the headlight, bucket, shields, and all fasteners. Only thing I had to do was drill a couple of holes for the whisker mounts before sending off to paint.

BMC customer service and follow up was great. You hear a lot of bullsh*t from dudes about how good customer service from some company when all they really did was answer a question via email and put a part in a priority mail box and ship it on time.. Which is what should be expected... BMC is the real deal- they actually followed up several times and checked in with me to see how it was going. I could text Mike now and he would answer. Pretty cool.

The only negative I would say about the BMC kit is the vent screens. I think they look cheap and chose not to run them. Vacant House makes some cool looking ones that I believe are aluminum and they now sell them separately so I'm thinking about buying those, but for now I'm good running nothing.

The fairing comes with an 8 inch shield, but I just ordered a taller recurve shield from Clearview, pretty stoked to see how that works out. Other than changing the headlight and the windscreen, I couldn't be happier with this setup. I like to ride long distances fast and this does the trick. Having a frame mounted fairing is nice in the wind.

I have the JD Customs FXRT repop, along with their lowers and clamshell bags.

I absolutely love this set up. It looks killer and is super comfortable! It also not hard to install and the JD neck clamp works great.

I added some Custom Dynamics LED amber lights in the pod area for turn signals and an after market "daymaker" that I got off ebay that works great.
