Default Project Rushmore Dyna

Before we all get to hear "why not just buy a street glide "
After trying twice to trade and basically being insulted with trade in price , I decided it was gonna cost me about $16,000-$18,000 to trade for a new 2016 street glide special ..with my bike being 100% paid for I couldn't see spending that kind of coin ... Yes my upgrades cost quite a bit but not NEAR $16,000
And my bike is still 100% paid for and 100% one of a kind!
Before I explain all that was done , here are a few pics of the finished product

Regardless of not seeing how the bike started or what you put into it, I'd still say that's a beautiful looking machine! To those who might say why not buy a SG, I'd just say whatever works for you is all that matters. The satisfaction of transforming your bike must be worth it's weight in gold alone!

What I did
1. Started with Vance and Hines switchback duels . They were a direct fit other than I didn't use their rear support brackets . I cut the box off them and welded it to my saddlebag rails
2. Switched to fat bob trees
3. Touring lowers and lowered my front forks one inch ( progressive lowering kit)
4. Built a plate to mount cowbells on that attaches to bottom of tree ( drilled and tapped)
5.rushmore inner and outer fairing complete with all new guages . I had the guages modified by zee's . I bought a new fairing harness from Harley and cut all the wires and then cut up my instrument harness and ran the wires to appropriate place on fairing harness .. Basically combined the two harnesses into one .on a side note . The fuel sending line (white/yellow) must come directly off the sending unit for fuel guage to work , once it goes to the split the ohms get screwed up .
6. Front wheel is chrome freewheeler wheel new from Harley
Michelin scorcher tire .stock spacers
7.2016 road glide front fender
8. Acquire ALL PARTS for inner fairing ... This is where most the cost came in as most of these parts had to be purchased new because there just isn't much used available because it's such a new model . I did score used speaker pods though
9.biketronics retro kit for road king
10. Grip switches for radio controls
11. 2016 cvo street glide handlebars
12. eBay lowers .. Plenty of threads on what's needed for those

Thanks robbyville
My sig and profile pic show what it was , had Memphis shades fairing with custom built inner fairing ... I liked it ok but it just looked bolted on and the legs looked too damn skinny .. I always said I loved everything but the fact that it looked like someone propped up a bulldog with toothpicks lol

Now that's a nice ride! And it's still a Dyna! That's an incredible transformation.

Damn, that's impressive. I bet people who pay attention to such things are confused by the battery cover.
