Default Dual Gauge / Micky Mouse Set-up Questions

I'm finally ordering the parts for the dual guage set up on my dyna. so far i've ...

...

ordered:
  1. 67103-95 TACHOMETER COVER, BACK, CHROME x 2
  2. 67338-97 SPEEDO/TACH BRACKET x 1
  3. 692006-15 WIRE HARNESS,INSTRUMENT ASY x 1
  4. 74541-00 KIT,COVER,BEZEL GAUGE,INSTRUMENT x 1
  5. 670000-10 TACH,4/5500 RDLN,BLK/SS x 1

using the 2008 roadster as my source.

I've got some questions. until i get a hold of a super glide tank.

what to do about:
  • the ignition switch?
  • extending the wires? i see that some hack and slash the wires, others are kits... any info here helps.
  • gaping hole left by the speedo?

Will be using the lucky dave's bar mount for gauge cluster.
http://luckydaves.com/product/gauge-mount/

any one used this? what size screws/bolts did you used to secure the cluster bracket?

also, are there things that's i'm not even considering that will probably slap me in the face?

i know that's a lot to be asking but, there are so many variables.

EBay sells kits to extend the wires or you can solder in your own extensions.

You can either change the dash to something else, make a custom cover, or dig up one of the old threads I had because there's a link to a company that sells a little plate that screws in to cover the hole.

This was my street Bob I had a few years back. You can see the dash plate covering the hole.

Sorry to flood the thread...found another pic after I'd hit the piece with some flat black to blend a little more and I plugged the indicator hole with a dummy piece that wasn't actually hooked up, but it filled the hole.

The website for the speedo plate is www.conflictedindustries.com

Don't know about the LD hardware but Accutronix comes with all the hardware you need.

Does your bike have a security fob? If so you can get rid of your ignition switch and replace it with a switch and relay.
