The latest with the 117
well everybody, as I said a couple days ago my se 117 is finally broken in on my 17 fxdls. I have been running autotune basic with power vision, and just finished tuning it. I tuned it up to 6000 rpm, but won't be running it passed 5500. I'm under the impression I can take it to 6500, but it redlined at 5500 from the factory so I'm not comfortable going passed 5500. Anyway I flashed it with my autotune file and did my first test ride on my way to work today. All I can say is ****in wow. I accidentally pulled the wheel off the ground just a little. Not a full wheelie, but in first gear at about 10 mph I hit it at about 3/4 throttle and up it went. As soon as it happened, I backed off the throttle but I'm still amazed at how good this kit runs. When I first did this kit, I wanted to see how it ran, then wanted to upgrade to the screamin eagle cnc ported heads. Now I have decided to leave it alone. It is just as fast as I wanted, and it still has some street manners. I couldn't be happier.
If if you're on the fence about this kit, take my word for it and just do it. You won't be disappointed. I'm still learning the limits as far as how hard I can hit it WITHOUT pullin the wheel up or spinning the tire, but it is perfect for my taste which is everyday riding and occasionally hitting the drag strip. I just downloaded an app that will tell me my 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc. so I don't know how accurate it is, but when I use it I will post my times here until the drag strip opens. Once I find out what my hp/tq numbers are I will post them here as well. Thank you to all who have posted advice and answered questions, and to everyone who expressed interest and followed my threads, I know I've posted a lot due to extreme excitement about this. This 117 kit was the reason I traded my Fxdb in for this in the first place, so mission accomplished.

Awesome man. Congrats on getting it dialed in. Sounds like you are as happy with your motor build as I am mine, I grin every time I romp on it some. What app did you get I'm curious to see. I bet yours runs like a beast. Be happy with what it is now or its a dangerous and expensive road from here lol.

Congratulations on the installation. I am a bit jealous as I kind of regret taking it to the dealer rather than installing it myself. I did get over that bug though by rebuilding the top end of my son's 250 during Christmas break.
As a side note on RPM, I did not bump mine to 6k until I put on an external oil cooler. It is a bit more power, but what I really needed was a little more room. After the upgrade I found myself bouncing off redline a hell of a lot more than I did with the 110.

Thank you!!! The app I'm using is called QMT. So far my best 0-60 time is 3.11 seconds, but I know I can do better. I just dropped it off to wolverine HD for the oil leak on the pushrod covers, and decided to pay the 57 bucks for them to throw it on the dyno and tell me what my hp/tq numbers are so I will let you guys know later this evening. Yes, I am happy. Beyond words. Every time I stomp on it I literally say out loud something like "oh my god/holy **** this is ****in unbelievable" with s huge smile on my face. It just blows me away how fast this bike is. I realize many of you are pushing significantly more hp/tq but this is the fastest bike I've ever rode so to me it's absolutely perfect.
