I was on the way home last night when my throttle started acting crazy!! the bike will run up to 40 mph if I leave throttle!! had to control it with strong rear & front braking. Today I started the engine & got a check engine light! ran the diagnostic & its code P0505. What caused it & how do I fix it??

 

It's "Loss of idle speed control", there should be a part number after the code, you'll just have to view the code then wait a sec or two then the part number will be displayed.
Make sure you write down the part number
Something the dealer should maybe look at.

 

My 06 Bob had that code twice , did not fast idle like yours, that I felt . Have you done any upgrades ? Talked to a Harley tech ,he said sometimes they will do strange things at first . Told me to clear codes and see what happened . Has not done it again in 7000 mi . I had payed the taxes pipes, airbox,fuelpak.

 

Is the bike Stock ? Any Gadget's ?

 

My ride has V&H slip ons, Fuelpack & SE Air filter.

 

Reset # 19 slowly don't let it snap back.. Then check # 21 to make sure it's correct.. Are you running the stock plug wires? Screaming eagle wires can Inter fear with the ECM ...

 

Trotter; No SE wires yet! U dont recommend it? I was just going to order SE plugs & wires, but if u say they can do me more bad than good then hell with it.

Good answer... I have to remove them to runa bikeon the Dyno....Plug's are a wast of money also, on a stock motor, Stock one's are fine.. Save your money fora Good tuner...

 

Its a 2007 St.Bob, 1200 miles so far, 600 with stage 1.
