Default 2 or 4" over front end

Anyone have a Wide glide 2-4" over stock on the forks? I'm getting ready to put chrome lowers on mine, but have also thought about extending the forks for more of a raked chopper look. Putting the front wheel on a 2x4 doesnt make much of a difference, but it looks good. I'm thinking that would be the equivelant of a 2" over tube. Not sure how the 4" would look yet. Anyone done it and got pictures and or feedback as to ride and handling??

Thanks,

Don't know if this will help, but my chopper has 4" over WG forks. It also has 40 deg rake to keep ride height down. 4" over with stock rake will make the bike more top heavy and increase trail causing more flop, heavier slow speed handling. On the plus side, highway speed riding and rough roadswill be more stable and it will look more chopperish.
Note that my bike has a couple inches stretch in the neck adding to the space between wheel and frame.
Not apples and apples.

Very cool, not quite what I'm looking for but thanks for the info, hadnt thought about the higher CG. I'm wondering if 2" would even be noticed. Although, when I had the front wheel on the 2x4 and kickstand on a 4x4, sitting relatively level, it felt pretty good in the seat. I just dont know if it was in my head or not..

I did 4" over on Sway and love it.

I'm going to have to get some better updated pics since I just changed the bars though.

Thanks, right now it's down due to an accident, will be changing some things when I replace the trashed stuff. Got both sides and smashed my ankle good. Don't know which will be up and running first, me or the bike.
Am most proud of the frame I designed on CAD and had fabricated. Rides real good!

Was the forkbrace necessary? and it looks like you have the tank lift.. ??

Those are two things I dont intend on adding to mine, not that it looks bad, I'm just not planning to do it.

No, the brace is not necessary but you would notice a little more flex in the forks without it.

I do have the 2" tank lift.
