Default Typical 88" Twin Cam Horsepower?

What is the typical horsepower for an 88" TC? I bought this bike with V&H Short Shots, Stage 1, and a RevTech DFO tuner. The guy gave me the dyno report which claims she's running 82 HP and 96 ft. lbs. of torque. Does this sound about right?
The reason I ask is... I got smoked by an 88" Road King running a 2-1 Rinehart with a Power Commander. This guy has probably 80 lbs on me plus the weight of the bike! I was pulling him in first through third, but when I hit fourth and fifth, he just walked away.
I've heardwith Short Shots, horsepower willdrop off on the top end. Maybe there's some truth to that?

mid to high 70s for both would be about right.

82/96 without engine mods? no way.

I have to agree with the others, those numbers are pretty optimistic for an 88 Twin Cam with just Stage I. If the tuner used STD smoothing instead of SAE it could show higher than usual numbers. Check the print out and see what smoothing or correction factors were used.

I would get it run on a dyno again in personits not that expensive just to get yournumbers(not a tune) but it would be close to what has been stated with mid 70's for both.

It was STD HP/Torque on the run report. What is the difference between STD and SAE?

Max HP was 82.4 and peaked about 5200 RPM.
Max TQ was 96.1 and peaked about 3700 RPM, but fell sharply after that.

Hmmmm?

Try this link; it explains the correction factors pretty well.

Default horsepower

Well, I traded in a 2003 Suzuki Intruder Volusia (805cc, 50ci) for a 2005 Electra Glide Standard (1450cc, 88ci) and I have this observation to share. When I rode alone, the rice burner had better take off and faster acceleration. When I hauled my old lady it bogged down and I had to over rev to start on an uphill grade. With my Harley I get reasonable (not rubber burning) pick up at any speed or vector with or without a passenger. Now the Suzuki had a carburetor, shaft drive and weighed 200 lbs less than the HD which has belt drive and EFI. Also, I got 58 MPG on the small one and 45 on the HD. I am 51 YO and I fell in love with the "Electra Glide in Blue" when I was a teenager (sort of like how people feel about Chargers, Barracudas, Novas, El Caminos or Camaros). Just thought I would attempt to be sociable and share some insight from an old disabled veteran. J. Elwood
