5 months for a *ucking pipe, that must be some damn good pipe!

Got the motor buttoned up, gotta do the lifters, then exhaust, and install the intake. Got a few bits to piece together for the external breather system, got the bits, just have to put it together. Tank, battery, seat, then hammer time, can't touch this

Looks and sounds great man! Did you order it coated or have it done yourself? Did you end up getting it dyno'd the other day?

EDIT: nevermind, saw the picture you posted the other day and see its black lol it looked silver until I studied it harder haha

To any of you guys with the JD Customs FXDXT fairing kit on your 06 and up Dynas - is there a reference point on the triple trees that I can measure from to see where the tops of the various shield sizes will sit?

I know some of you guys are running 7/8" dirt bike grips on 1" bars. How much of a pain was it to get them on? My Biltwell grips are about shot and instead of ordering another set and waiting I was just going to run to the dirtbike shop that's not too far from my place and grab a set of grips.

Took a bit of elbow grease, but wasn't too bad.

I followed someone's recommendation from this forum and let the grips soak in very hot water to soften them up then quickly worked them on (they wrote boiling water, but all I had was about 180 degree water from an electric kettle). That really helped and once they cooled off they tightened up.
I did get aggressive enough with one that it ripped the end cap.

The ones I got are two different sizes, so make sure you use the larger one on the throttle tube if one is a different size. (I know, sounds obvious)

On a road trip to Cambria. Pretty happy with how bikes runs and handles. Although was running for a bit with buddy who has some motor work, and I guess I need more power

Default RWD fairing

if youve been following, I was real iffy about this fairing. Worked out a few bugs, got it painted and now i LOVE it. so glad I didnt sell it.
Anyway, 2001 FXDX with RWD FXRT fairing, vents glassed shut, fairing trimmed to follow tank curve and windshield cut to clear hand guards (which now are my blinkers also.)

Should have the paint finished up this coming weekend. Working crazy hours this week. Have to do a final color coat followed by laying the stencils and painting them black all followed by a matte clear coat.

The large wings are going on the tank and the small ones going from the headlight hole on my Gauntlet fairing then down the sides and all be in black.
