Default Thinking of painting bike - Suggestions?

Hey guys,

I recently painted my fairing a flat black made by Rustoleum called Painters Touch and it was a damn near PERFECT match for the paint. Its held up so well, and looks really good.

So with that said.. I'm tempted to paint the whole bike a different color.

The current denim paint is completely faded, has water spot stains that won't come off, scratches on the rear fender that look like ****.... so I've been thinking of repainting.

I'm thinking of doing a couple things..

1) A flat white, maybe with some skull stencils to replace the badges..

2) A flat OD green type color.

3) Or just repaint everything denim black again.

It really will SUCK to lose the pinstriping that was done to my scoot, but it just looks so bad now that is bothering me.

So watcha guys think? Any other suggestions?

For me, less is more on paint jobs. I like the flat look with maybe some hand painted pinstriping. I'm not a fan of white on bikes. I prefer flat black or flat silver.

Why does it Have to be flat man? Why limit yourself? Do something that is Nice to look at. Metal flake, lace, marblizer, semi gloss...it came from the factory flat, make it Better!

Just a few cool ones I ran across.

Saw a bad@ss Night Train with a springer front end about a month ago when I was in Panama City (Panama) that was a really cool candy apple red metal flake with flat black (almost a brownish tint to it) panel on the side with 'grafitti' lettering ... forget what it said now ... and a number "7" on the oil bag ....

Had kind of a Roland Sands Design kind of look to it ... headlight and oil bag color matched ... no front fender ...

A little gold pinstriping on the edges of the panel and lettering ....

Would look great on your bike ....

This is the way to go. Be a tread setter. Walk out in the open and let people see you as a leader amongst followers.

Seriously......don't. Just stay with the rest of us and paint it or keep it black.

He said he wanted to paint the bike himself. The examples you posted hardly look like beginner paint jobs.

You thought of powdercoating the tins? Might be a more durable finish ....

Root beer is a cool color for bikes as well ....
