Opinions of Mustang solo with back rest
I am going on a road trip soon and am looking to buy a mustang solo....the price on their website goes from $219-$479 (if you add a back rest)...does anyone have an opinion on whether the backrest is worth an extra $260....and it seems that if you want the backrest, they do not offer it for the 13.5" solo.....getting the back rest is only offered on the 16.5" solo. I'm not sure if that will be too wide for my 2000 superglide.....Thanks for your opinions in advance!!! link to seat http://mustangseats.com/cart/index.p...roducts_id=397

I use a roll bag as a back rest on my Mustang fast back seat.
CC Seats makes some nice seats and will add a backrest for additional cost.

Johnny,
A good water proof stuff sack strapped on the sissy bar should work. As long as it makes contact with the mid section of your back.
I used a Bevy one man tent on my last trip. Good luck on your trip.

I got the mustang vintage wide with the backrest but I haven't been able to try it out due to the weather but it feels comfortable sitting on it in the garage. I know it'll be worth it in the long run.
BTW, check out ebay. It got mine brand new from a dealer for $377 shipped.

i might pull the trigger on this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories
I never thought a back rest on my solo Mustang made much of a difference until I went off riding locally with it removed. I sure did miss that lower back comfort. Its, (backrest) now on all the time for all my rides:-)
