Default Quick cleaning question, chrome

Out of curiosity are any household cleaners safe on chrome (spoke) wheels and chrome pipes? I've heard of people using 409 on all the chrome, but I'm not sure and I don't want to risk it without asking first. I have 409 multi-surface at home I'm not sure if its the same as the original 409

Read this. Chrome is one of the recommended surfaces for this product.

Is pledge more of a polish vs a cleaner? If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to add

Why worry about it, spend the $5 on a bottle of Mothers Chrome Polish (works as a cleaner too). It will last you at least a whole season, unless you never ride and only clean/ polish.

I've used TurtleWax Chrome Polish for years. The stuff will clean chrome, and even removes surface rust, like magic. Rub on, buff off, and voila! Shines like crazy!
