Default rattling on the bike

i noticed the other day that when i was in 6th gear there was a rattling noise coming from the bike. it was similar to the noise that happens when i am a little low rpm wise in a gear. only thing is i was going 70-75 in 6th gear. is this normal for a bike under 1000 miles or something i should have them look at.

also, i am getting a rattling noise from the headlight that when i put my finger on the glass cover (i don't recommend this without glove, its hot as ****) it stop rattling.

want to make sure these are legit concerns before i take it in for my 1000 mile maintenance and sound like a paranoid first time harley owner.

Check the bottom of headlight for a screw to tighten the chrome ring. I went and looked at my bike and you tighten that ring it should quit rattling.

I had a very annoying rattle from the front of my street bob, turned out to be the rivets bolted in the headlight was a little loose.

Rivets in my headlight bucket came loose too and the headlight would bounce around like Oprah at Krispy Kreme. I had the headlight bucket replaced under warranty and no problem since.

I unscrewed the chrome ring, lifted out the socket and had a friend hold a piece of solid metal against the rivet, while i gave it a hit or two with a rubberhammer. Did it on all four. But if the warranty allows you to replace them thats of course better (and safer).

70 t0 75 in sixth is ok as long as I don't try to accelerate quickly, but I still consider that slow for sixth on a stock bike. (without 30T pulley mod) My 96" stage one bike will do 80 in third nowhere near the rev limiter with extended rpm's (6250 as opposed to 5500 stock). And i have heard that noise you are describing even in 5th if I twist too hard at 70 to 75. So I think your fine smokin'/shootin' dude! Ride safe will ya!!!? :-[]

Yeah, it's kinda sorta normal at 70 in 6th gear. Sorta. It should straighten out in a little while, once the bike has a few more miles on it. But 70 in 6th is just a tad low.

Put louder pipes on it.
