So I went to change my tranny fluid. I thought it would be pretty straight forward. I have Vance and Hines Big Shots Staggered pipes that go right over my dipstick. I had to take the exhaust off to change the fluid.

Anyone else with this set up. Did I have to go through all that trouble?

One more thing, I changed the primary fluid. I went through the primary inspection and took a picture of the fluid level. The book says 28 oz. The mechanic said 32. When I put in the who quart it was still about 3/8 inch lower than what I started with. Do you think it was just over filled last time? Should it be fine?

i had v&h side shots on my 03 fxdx. dipstick wasn't completely out of reach, but it was definitely a challenge. any chance that just loosening the pipes gives you enough room to work? still a nuisance, but maybe a little easier. i tend to think that it's better to be a little over than a little under when I change my primary oil, so i generally fill it right up to the lower lip of the derby cover. usually takes a little over a full quart.
