Default i feel like a idiot ....fluid change issue

hey all .... few quick question's 2011 fatboy 1st time changing my oil and fluids and need some clarification ... the oil says check on kick stand so do you check the primary and trans the same way?

the primary fluid is supposed to make contact with the bottom of the clutch ?

and last ( and here is the massive idiot part) when i changed out the primary fluid i accidentally dumped engine oil in the primary .. just grabbed the wrong bottle .... i drained it back out and refilled with the correct fluid but is there any worries or anything else i need to do ?

sorry for all the questions just again 1st time harley owner 1st time fluid change

it's best to have the bike standing up (as if someone were sitting on it) to check the fluids.. if you have some wooden blocks laying around, or even a book like the Random House Dictionary, put it under the kick stand to stand her up a few inches until it looks about level..so yes to the first question...

and it should be like 36 ounces of fluid in the primary, on mine it's high enough that the chain is slightly dipped in the oil.. and i don't htink you'll have a problem with the two different oils if you drained it out and put the correct stuff in.. it all lubes similarly

I've got an '05, but pretty sure the oil is checked on the side stand, and the tranny and primary checked with bike vertical. Maybe that changed for the 11's tho.

Check with your service manual. There's specific details on how to check each fluid level. Some are upright, and some are on the kick stand.

Get a service manual for your model from HD. It will pay for itself in no time.

Oh crap! The fluid ****** may takeover this thread now... Seriously tho, some peeps put synthetic 20w-50 in all three holes. You may search this forum on the topic. There could be one or two threads, er weeks worth of reading about the subject.

And read your owner's manual. Most of these questions were answered by it.
