I know this subject has been beaten to death, but any reason why the stand leans so far rear ward? It’s locked in and it isn’t going anywhere, I would just like it to be more forward.
There’s a little tab that locks into a notch on the mounting bracket. Sometimes the little tab wears around the edges a little.
Crawl down there and check it out and replace it if it’s worn.
or, Maybe, if it is the Square drive "tab" remove, flip it over, replace..Maybe.
I feel dumb.. I’ve never thought about that. Most are slightly angled so flipping would change the angle too. Seems… Obvious once said.
Once my wife and I went out and bought bunch of solar landscape lights… after installing every single one of them were defective and not working.. we pulled like 30 of them back out and took them back and got our money… then my buddy came over and said “did you guys remove the little tab that keeps the solar battery from making contact?”
Gotta be able to laugh at yourself.

Think the issue is the bracket used and a slight orientation of the square on the end of stand that may be slightly orientated different.
Now that's just a guess. You compared them ..

1998 Hertidge 50087-89B JIFFY STAND
50018-85 LEG BRACKET
I have a brand new -89B stand also maybe I’ll install it to see if there’s any difference. I got the 05 Deluxe one because I liked the way the extension comes up the primary for easy access.
