Blackbook,at least for cars,shows current wholesale values based on condition and mileage and is updated weekly.
Trade in value doesn't mean much as far as the true value of a vehicle. In other words if a vehicle has a wholesale value of 8000, you could be given a trade in allowance of 10000 against,lets say, a 20000 retail selling price. The dealer would be drawing 18000 for the new vehicle. 10000 trade difference plus the actual cash value of 8000.
It's all in how you present the numbers.
