Default WG polished lowers

Took some stock lowers, filed them, sanded them, and polished them. Finally got them installed. Pretty cheap considering the price of chrome ones...

They look great, please be careful, don't use strong chemical for cleaning, they become dull right away. Mild soap does the trick. Here is mine

I did mine this winter also. Strip off the clear, sand with 400/600/1200 wet and go to the buffing wheel. Took about an hour for each side.

I bought a pair of used lowers from another member on here. Like stated above. I started by filing the high parts (PN# , casting edges, etc). then went after them with 300, 400, 600 and finished with 1200. Some Mother's polish on a buffing wheel. Overall with new seals, crush washers, sand paper, price of the lowers about $100 in the project.

128 do you have to continue to polish with aluminum polish to keep them shinny? I remember an old set of allum rims that weren't clear coated, I had to polish often
