Quick release saddlebags and sissy bar
Already have HD quick release sissy bar, and want to add detachable brackets for my saddlebags (HD).
Ok, I've seen a bunch of different threads discussing this, but...
I'm hoping to get a thread started that has info on the top three solutions:
Ghost
http://www.ghostbrackets.com/content/view/133/32/
Easy
http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/ea...rt/EZ-DNA-L3DB
Edge
http://www.edgeleather.com/Harley-Da...o-Present.html
CycleVision BareBacks
http://www.cyclevisions.com/index.php/cvstore/cv-products/bag-mounting/barebacks-cv144.html
BareBacks chrome cap:
Specifically:
How much farther out do the saddlebags hang when mounted?
Are the bags secure or do they rattle around while riding?
Any other feedback is welcome too!

SO, i've been reading all the forums/reviews i could find for the last hour or so, and it looks like Ghost/Edge brackets are very very similiar to Easy brackets.
I like the continuous bracket of the Easy bracket, where as the Ghost have a gap between front and back bolt.
I've read a from a few people that say Easy sit a little closer to the bike, thats a plus.
And just comparing negative to positive reviews, Easy brackets have gotten better feedback.
SO, I think i'll be going w/ the Easy Brackets.
I'll jump back to this thread to give my 2cents after a bit.

I tried the Edge brackets and returned them in less than a week! They stuck out way too far, rattled way too much, and on close examination could be 'unlocked' using a Philips head screwdriver from underneath the lock. Thanks to things I learned on this forum I ended up going this way, and still glad I did.

one question. do you use the acorn nut alone to hold the bags on, or do you use the jam nut on the inside of the bags a well? OR just use the acorns when the bags are off and use another regular nut on the inside of bags.

I put a large fender washer between the bag and each acorn nut when the bags are on to distribute the load. When they are off I use a 1/2" chrome spacer between the jam nut and acorn nut but frankly, I like the bags so much that I only pull them when I'm doing a full bath!
