Default Vance & Hines Quiet baffle question...

Anyone know if the quiet baffle is the same as the baffle that comes with Vance and Hines pipes, but just the added fiber glass wrap? For example, if I pull the quiet baffle, remove the wrap, then reinstall the baffle, is that the same as just running the baffle that came with the pipes?

I just put on a set of Straight Shots slipons my 2012 FXDC and love them. Have no idea why anyone would install quiet baffles.

Because they deepen the note. "quiet baffles" isn't really a very accurate name for them

True. I just put a set in my big shots and they take away the "raspy" tone and really mellow it out. I had no problem with the standard baffle sound, as I like loud pipes, but the quiet baffles really mellow out the tone and seem to add a deeper sound to it.

I swapped mine because at WOT, the stock baffles were just obnoxious. The quiet baffles are still plenty loud but at least you're not blowing out people's eardrums that you're passing.

Agree with most of the above. My dealer told me the "quiet baffles" would only deepen the sound and the quiet part would be 3 db which is hardly anything and he was right so the term quiet baffles is misleading.

My bike came with quiet baffles so as most of you know, I now need to tinker!
