Default Service Manual torque range for fork tube caps is huge...

The torque in the manual says somthing like 22-59 ft lbs .
Why is the range so large?

I looked up the torque for the 49mm fork tube caps & it is cofusing 16-43 ftlbs. I never torque mine just tighten them down and give the ratche a couple wacks with my hand. This has worked for me for last 35 years on all the bikes I've had and worked on.

The cap thread is steel but the fork-tube thread is Aluminum. Range in manual makes sense.

using two different thread materials so they give you a span in case it leaks to go by.

I usually torque to the lower end of given ranges in the manual
