Kickstand spring wearing into oil pan
I put my DLR on the lift today and noticed significant wear ribs from the kick stand spring. What would cause that? The threads for the oil pan were stripped when I Got the bike, so I put a piggyback drain plug in it and have been just using that. Still seeps, but it's not too bad. Plans were to pull the pan and have a steel bung welded in place, but now I'm a little concerned about the worn section and may have something tacked over that as well, or replace the whole pan.

i am the original owner of a 96 low rider and I had the same issue, in fact both issues
I think I put on a different plug, one that cut the threads bigger, I bought 2 different ones the piggyback and the one that's on it, I did it 7 years ago so I don't remember but i got it from an autoparts store, as far as the spring mine rubbed into the case, again I noticed it probably around the same time as the plug stripped, I put a big ole wad of jb weld in the area to build it up, I don't ride the bike a whole lot anymore maybe 1500 miles a year (I ride my ultra most of the time), but the bike doesn't leak a drop.
