Default Stage 1 Upgrade

Finally got the funds to complete my Stage 1 upgrade. Ive got a Arlen Ness Big Sucker on order from my local stealer. I haven't seen many post's on bolting this thing on. I do have "The Book". But I was just wondering if anyone had any pointers they could share.

Guess I'll have to trailer her down to the shop for the tune. I've got all the gear for the SE tuner. And I have the money for the dyno. So I'm going to get her done. But I can't understand which tune would be the best to drop in. And I'm afraid to ride her 40 miles to the shop without the right tune. Any suggestions.
Thanks

You can ride to the shop if you want. You won't cause any damage to the engine.

40 miles aint much. wont harm it at all. had a friend who put a thunderheader and stage 1 AC on his old dyna and never bothered with a tune. bike ran great and before he sold it the dealership went through it and even asked if he put a tuner and the mechanic even said it ran great without it.

the ness a/c is very easy to install. just be sure and tighten the screws holding the backing plate to specs, loctite is your friend. Rotate and work your way up in increments.

Do not overtighten the big sucker.
Make sure you really know who's dynoing your bike and they are developing a custom map for it and not a genric canned map. I would go on the SE tuner sticky thread and ask for recomendations on as dyno tuner in your area.

The majority of time, it is not the dealer

I have to say. She ran very good after the V & H's were installed. No decel pops. And you could tell she had a quickness to her step. Even after the AC, she still fealt pretty good. I did experience a couple of decel pops on the way to get the tune. But I was supprised how well she performed. I'll surely be pissed if I get her back and she doesn't feal atleast as good. And hopefully better. I'll post the Dyno results after I get her home.

The day I took mine to get dyno tuned I took off the XEID's before so I didn't have to mess with it when I got there....I was thinking it ran pretty good...until I picked it up after the dyno tune...The difference between pretty damn good and awesome is amazing
